Miss Kaylee Grace ~ 4 months (3 1/2 months home)

Our little Miss Kaylee Grace continues to keep us laughing and joy-filled! She is such a clear picture of Christ's Love that we are blessed to see EVERY DAY!!! He loves us, His children, SO much that He made a way for US to be ADOPTED into God's family...

"Now if we are children, then we are heirs - heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in His sufferings in order that we may also share in His glory." Romans 8:17

It's hard to even fathom what being "heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ" entails....

For sure we know that it means that we, as His children, will inherit eternal life (Titus 3:4-7) which in-and-of-itself is all we really need.

But we also know that once we are in Christ (all who believe in Him and love Him and follow Him), we are "seated with Him in the Heavenly realms in Christ Jesus" (Ephesians 2:6). One commentary I read says that although we are not physically seated with Christ yet, we sit in the Heavenly places in Christ Jesus since our life and identity is in Christ...so as He sits in Heavenly places, so do we! (Commentary from David Guzik on Eph 2)

As He sits in peace, so do we! As He sits in joy, so do we! His JOY and His PEACE are ours to have at all times...all we have to do is turn into Him!!!

It is no different with Kaylee Grace - all that we have is hers. She now has all the love and attention she could ever want - the second she has a need, it is met!

She will never have to worry again about going hungry or being neglected...she has a family who loves her and will meet every need she will ever have ~ often before she even knows she has that need!

Through her adoption, we are reminded every single day of our own adoption into God's family. Without Him, we would be hopeless and needy. With Him, we have all we will ever need!

Our continual prayer is that Kaylee will soon know the Faithful Love of Jesus ~ which is far more than we could ever offer her! He is her healer; the One who will make her whole... inside and out :)

He alone covers her with peace and He alone can make her feel safe and give her true & lasting security. In the mean time, we strive to be His hands and feet to Kaylee....we pray for His love and His compassion and His patience to flow through us to her so that she can continue to learn to trust.

4 Months with Kaylee Grace:

-She has come so far with bonding and attachment
-She does great when she is left with Brod or when the two of them go somewhere together (LOVES going to the store with her Daddy where she gets to push her own cart!)
-She has grown a lot!.....
-Weighs 24 lbs and is 32 inches tall. Gained 6 pounds and grew 2 inches!!! (Still has a long way to go to reach the growth chart...praying that she will grow into being a fabulous eater!!!)
-Still only takes a bottle with formula, oatmeal and some baby food mixed in (can't even get her to take water or apple juice out of a bottle! Praying that changes soon and she starts to eat solids)
-She is sleeping MUCH better! 9:00pm-5:30am most nights!!! Wa-hooo!!! (Still next to our bed in her crib...wakes a few times here and there but I just pat her and she's back out :)
-She LOVEs the water - pool, lake, water table, bath
-She is being nicer to the dog :)
-She has grown tremendously with self-control (MUCH less hitting and hair pulling) :)
-She was a super-star with her surgeries (will need 2 more in the next couple of months so we are enjoying this nice break in between!)
-She is trying to say SO MANY words: Hi, all-done, up, mama, dada, duck, eye, bye bye, thank you, Ally, happy, hot, papa, off, on, under, down, yes, hey!, doggie, c'mon!, guys...these are all words that we can understand for the most part. She tries to say a lot of other words too!
-She understands most everything that we say and we can "communicate" quite well with her
-She knows exactly what she wants and can clearly express what she wants us all to do ;)
-She is BUSY...always on the go (will rarely sit and play with something...likes to be up and going!)
-She likes to pull/push things around the house (baby stroller, wagon, etc)
-Still LOVEs to dance and listen to music
- Loves Baby Einstein :)

We had a fun day with Claire...playing in the water table that the girls love so much! The big kids made water balloons as fast as they could for the girls and "hid" them under the bubbles that we put in the water table...the girls had a blast looking for them and then taking them over to the grass to throw them so they'd pop :)

Big Splash!

Kaylee likes to get wet when she pops her balloons ;)

Lots of bubbles just for something different :)

Claire loves taking the balloons to the grass and dropping them so they pop :)
So thankful for the water table!
